Old Goat
Today is my father in law George’s 70th birthday. To celebrate, my mother in law has rented a hall where people can drop in to wish him a happy day.
You have to understand who George is to appreciate the humor of the card. He is without a doubt the best father in law in the world. I secretly call him Archie. He likes to pretend he’s cranky like Archie and he even has the “oh geez” down pat!
Whenever we get together it’s a lot of fun bickering and one upmanship. I let him win sometimes LOL A few weeks ago he said or did something that caused me to reply with “George! I do NOT like you any more!” Ever since then he keeps asking me if I like him again, and I keep telling him I’m thinking about it LOL
Want to put a face to the name?![]()
Not so scary after all huh? But he looks like Archie don’t you think?
So, I set off yesterday to make him a card that he’ll both laugh at and remember. My friend Donna suggested an “older than dirt” theme. I had been playing with the idea of “old goat”. Donna also suggested a shaker. So . . . this is what I came up with.
By the way, it’s 8 1/2” x 8 1/2” to allow room for everyone to sign it.
Zoe spent considerable time with her quality inspection. I think it passed because after she finished she promptly laid down upon it an declared it hers.![]()
This was such a fun project to doo and I can’t believe it took the whole day LOL I think I might have over thought it just a little.
This what’s going on the inside after it’s all signed. I have an extra panel to accommodate all the names.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

He looks like the best FIL in the world and I bet he loved his card to boot…tfs
I bet he loved this card! I love what you put inside too, so fun. My Dad was an Archie and loved that show.
I love it!
