Bring on Spring!
I do
n’t know about you, but I am so ready for spring to come and stay! We’ve had a few false starts but I’m hopeful that it’s here to stay this time.
I went to a crop last weekend and picked up some beautiful paper. I don’t know who makes it because it was on the ten cent table and it’s not marked. Sadly, there were only 2 sheets. It’s just so pretty and springy looking that I had to make a special project just to show it off.
I also had a 3 way video webchat play date with a couple of the regulars over at Stampin’ Canada and I made this box during our playdate. It was so nice to have others’ in the room to chat with while playing. What I made this time is a combination easel card / trinket box. Perfect for little girls to hide their special keepsakes.
The image is Sarah Kaye, coloured with pencil crayons and OMS, cut out and matted on a nice cinnamon paper then popped up on the new Spellbinders Floral Motifs die.
So . . . what do you think? Isn’t it just the most adorable thing ever?!
I opted for a rounded drawer pull system that makes it easy to open but doesn’t cover up too much of the pretty paper.
This is great project for children of all ages.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Oh it looks beautiful. The paper is perfect and I love the image you used on the card. TFS.
Now that is one sweet box…glad to see the finished piece of work…tfs
A great box. Love the colours, reminds me of the spring that forgot to come.
Wow, that is awesome!
I love the rounded drawer pulls!
Perfect paper for that project …love it
What a gorgeous easel/trinket box. I agree that paper is perfect to inject a little bit of Spring. That Sarah Kay image is adorable and your colouring is perfect. Thanks for sharing your art – you are so good at these 3D projects.
